AuctionIndia (an auction site of Cyber Commerce), a portal that brings together buyers and sellers of industrial assets, is setting up a network of 40 business partners in India. The company recently tied up with AFL Limited for logistics services, whereby movement of equipment and other assets transacted through the site can take place easily across the country.
For this, the company has developed a Lotus Domino-based solution, Auction Engine. Auction Hosting services enable companies to focus on their core business activities while outsourcing their auction and other related activities. "In order to give customers direct service, we have engaged business partners who belong to various industrial sectors," said C E Karunakaran, MD, auctionindia.com.
The software for Chennai based vertical portal, Autopartsasia.com, has already been implemented and other companies are expected to follow soon. Prior to this, the software had been implemented in Internet Auctioneers International of US. The company undergoes custom auctioning, whereby, interaction with the sellers takes place before they host the clients' details on the site. Currently, the site has over 1,800 units of machinery and 200 industrial units. "While sellers are large industries, the buyers belong to the SMEs and resellers market," said Karunakaran. |
