Chennai, Feb 6: Auctionindia.com, the pioneer in conducting auction through net has received Lotus Beacon Award to its auction engine for providing best e-business solution. The award was won among heavy competition from hundreds of entries, CE Karunakaran,Managing Director said in a press conference here on Tuesday.
He said, auctionindia.com has realised the potential of online auctions extensively to enable users for better prices, variety and locational advantages in their sales and purchase and other activities. Indian corporates have opted online auctions auctions for the disposal of second hand machinery, scrap, surplus materials and inventory. HLL, BHEL, TISCO, Lucas TVS, Tube Products, Rane, Widia, Ashok Leyland, Voltas, Larsen & Toubra, Birla Periclase and India Pistons have utilised the net auction, he added. For the past one year Rs. 10 crore worth of auction was done through auctionindia.com, he added.
Cyber Commerce Private Limited, which launched auctionindia.com a year ago, so far conducted 42 auctions, Karunakaran said. |
